In accordance with COPE and ICMJE guidelines, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI chatbots (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini), and generative AI software do not meet the criteria for authorship.
Authors are permitted to use generative AI tools solely for copyediting, language polishing, and structural formatting (e.g., improving grammar, syntax, readability, or translation).
Any use of AI tools must comply with the following conditions:
If AI tools or AI-assisted technologies were utilized in writing, editing, or data collection for the manuscript, authors must explicitly declare their use upon submission.
A dedicated "AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Statement" must be included prior to the References section, following this format:
AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Disclosure: "During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Name of Tool/Service] in order to [Reason for Use, e.g., improve English grammar and phrasing]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and took(s) full responsibility for the content of the published article."
(If no AI tools were used during manuscript preparation, no statement is required.)
