Article Publication Charges

Medical Technologies Journal (MTJ) is committed to open access publishing, making all accepted research immediately and permanently available online to readers worldwide without subscription fees or paywalls.

To cover operational costs—including peer-review coordination, manuscript copyediting, similarity/plagiarism detection checks, DOI registration (Crossref), layout production, and digital archiving—MTJ charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon final acceptance.

Note: MTJ does not charge any submission fees. APCs are billed only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

Fee Discounts & Waiver Policy

MTJ is dedicated to supporting researchers from low- and middle-income countries. Discount eligibility is automatically calculated based on the primary affiliation of the corresponding author using the World Bank Country Income Classifications:

• Low-Income Economies: 25% discount
• Lower-Middle-Income Economies: 15% discount
• Special Circumstances: Institutional waivers and discretionary discounts are evaluated case-by-case upon request prior to manuscript submission.

Institutional & Grant Funding Support

Many research grants, funding agencies, and university libraries allow authors to cover open-access APCs directly from project budgets. MTJ meets the open-access compliance requirements for major global research funders, including:

• European Commission (Horizon Europe / H2020): Fully eligible for APC reimbursement under Gold Open Access policies.
• National Science Foundation (NSF) & National Institutes of Health (NIH): Grant-funded open-access publication costs.
• Institutional Open Access Funds: Check with your university library or department to see if funds are reserved for open-access publishing.
